A veteran media relations and communications manager has moved up to become the Communications Director post in Lake County.
The Lake County Commission announced they are moving Jeff Foley into the Communications Director job. Foley has been with the county as a Communications Manager since 2024.
Foley had an extensive career in communications and media strategy long before he arrived in Lake County. He had a 15-year career in public relations, media relations and stakeholder engagement.
Foley is also an author and has worked with nonprofit organizations in communications roles for years. He’s also been a journalist and a business owner.
A county news release made public on Monday said Foley will lead the communications team to inform some 400,000 residents who live in Lake County.
“Jeff has demonstrated a strong commitment to transparent, effective communication and public service,” said Lake County Manager Jennifer Barker. “His leadership and experience make him well-suited to guide our Communications team and continue strengthening our connection with residents.”
County officials add that since joining the county’s communications office two years ago, Foley’s helped build outreach to residents over issues such as infrastructure, public safety and environmental concerns. He’s also served as the county’s lead Public Information Officer during emergency events such as hurricanes and other major events.
Officials say he ensured “timely and accurate information” to residents of the county and agencies that partner with the county.
