James Uthmeier wants pay raises, promotions for cops who stop Tesla vandals

Florida’s Top Cop has a new public safety mission.

Attorney General James Uthmeier is assuring Florida’s 19 Tesla dealerships that law enforcement will be incentivized to have their backs.

“We’re going to have law enforcement patrolling these dealerships. And I’ll tell you if you are a law enforcement officer in Florida and you interfere with somebody and prevent them from hurting a Tesla, come find me and I’m going to try to get you a pay raise and a promotion,” Uthmeier said on “Fox & Friends First.”

Tesla vandalism is rampant globally as people are lashing out against CEO Elon Musk amid his work with the Donald Trump administration.

Uthmeier alluded to “several statutes” in Florida law beyond vandalism that can enhance punishment. He also questioned the philosophy of people committing the vandalism.

“These leftist protesters, they seem to be attacking Teslas as a private company as a way to protest government. They seem to have overlooked the fact that Elon Musk is trying to eliminate government,” Uthmeier said.

Uthmeier is the latest leader to speak out against these crimes.

“The swarm of violent attacks on Tesla property is nothing short of domestic terrorism,” said Attorney General Pam Bondi this week.

“The Department of Justice has already charged several perpetrators with that in mind, including in cases that involve charges with five-year mandatory minimum sentences. We will continue investigations that impose severe consequences on those involved in these attacks, including those operating behind the scenes to coordinate and fund these crimes.”

“Let me tell you, you do it to Tesla, and you do it to any company, we’re going to catch you, and … you’re going to go through hell,” added Trump earlier this month.
