A major beef ended at the Grammy Awards Sunday … not between two artists, but between an artist and the academy itself — ’cause The Weeknd is back in the Grammys fold.

Harvey Mason Jr. — the Recording Academy CEO — stepped up to talk about all the changes he’s tried to implement in the last four years … ever since The Weeknd called out the academy for a lack of transparency.

Remember … back in 2020, The Weeknd’s song “Blinding Lights” — a super popular track which ended up skyrocketing to the top of the charts — wasn’t nominated at the 2021 Grammys.

The Weeknd then went off on the Academy … saying he wouldn’t attend the 2021 show — citing the “secret committees” he believed were choosing the nominees.

At the time, Mason said the Grammys were constantly evolving … but, The Weeknd still boycotted for years, refusing to submit his music for any of the trophies.

Now, Mason says he appreciates criticism … and, the Recording Academy has worked to make the Grammys more transparent — all of which led to The Weeknd agreeing to perform once again.

The star then walked onstage and performed two songs — “Cry For Me” and “Harmless” — thrilling the audience.

So, it appears he’s forgiven the Recording Academy and appreciates all the work they’ve done to change their systems for voting … or, it’s possible he simply wanted to support the fire relief efforts this year’s ceremony is supporting.

After all … The Weeknd has raised millions for the relief effort — and, his performance at the show may help to raise even more.

Kanye West and Bianca Censori made quite the splash on the Grammys red carpet … and while several reports claim their antics got them booted, TMZ has learned that’s not the case.

A source close to the Recording Academy tells TMZ … Kanye was an invited guest — nominated for Best Rap Song this year — and he wasn’t forcibly removed from the event.

We’re told he walked the red carpet, got in his car of his own volition and then left … police and Grammys security never got involved.

In case you missed it … Kanye and Bianca stopped by Crypto.com Arena Sunday afternoon — and, BC stripped down to a completely see through shirt that left nothing to the imagination.

Worth noting … Kanye hadn’t attended the Grammys since 2015, and — with the antisemitic comments he made back in 2022 — it was shocking to see him there.

Tons of people took pics … and, Kanye and Bianca were then spotted leaving — with several outlets reporting they were told to hit the road.

Beyoncé‘s a country girl through and through, and the Recording Academy recognized it … voting “Cowboy Carter” as the year’s Best Country Album — and having Taylor Swift hand over the trophy.

Swift took the stage to present the award … and, after naming off some of the other incredible artists who have won the category and listing the nominees — she called out the Queen Bey’s name.

If you’re wondering if Beyoncé saw this coming, it’s pretty clear she had no idea … just look at her face right after she got called — definition of “deer in headlights.”

Beyoncé quickly recovered … hugging her husband Jay-Z and their daughter Blue Ivy — before making her way to the stage where she received a warm embrace from T-Swift.

In her speech, Beyoncé thanked all of the country artists who have embraced the album and talked about how hard she worked on the record. Watch the whole clip to hear her comments.

This was a big moment between two artists who have pitted against each other in the press for years now … with comparisons made between Taylor’s “Eras” tour and Bey’s “Renaissance” tour.

We knew Taylor was presenting tonight — on top of being nominated for numerous awards — and, it seems the Grammy organizers may have known Bey was fated to win … putting two of the biggest stars on earth together.
