Jacksonville Jaguars fans can bid on a piece of stadium history

Seats and bricks aren’t available, but some other items are.

While the eyes of the football world are on Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, fans of the Jacksonville Jaguars have a contest of their own underway.

In light of the stadium renovation scheduled for the next few years, a private company is auctioning off stadium fixtures, including player lockers and kitchen items, such as pretzel warmers, pizza ovens, and portable sinks.

The auctions are underway now, and prices are still as low as one dollar for some items.

The food equipment lot closes Feb. 17, stadium lockers close Feb. 18, with pickup to be arranged in Orlando on Feb. 20.

The City Council voted 14-1 in 2024 (with two abstentions) to approve spending $775 million renovating its NFL stadium, money to be matched with $625 million from the Jaguars. The team will also pay for cost overruns.

The project includes reduced capacity games in 2026, games at an out of town location next year, and a homecoming in 2028.

“As with most major venue renovations, the project has required the replacement, consolidation, and retirement of existing foodservice and operational assets — creating a rare opportunity for buyers to acquire equipment originally deployed in a professional sports environment,” asserts Restaurant Equipment Bid, the company coordinating the auctions.
