In September, contemporary jeweller Rat Betty will pop-up in Dukes Lane, Brighton, joining its vibrant community of niche retail brands.

The tourist-rich south coast location will allow both new and ‘Rattie Fans’ to experience the brand hands-on for the first time.

Locally made “with a commitment to sustainability and originality”, the brand is known for its chunky sterling silver rings, statement earrings and quirky charms.

Across the two-day event (20-21September), visitors will be able to “immerse themselves in the set of an 1980s office” and try on statement pieces. There will even be an opportunity get a tattoo on the opening Saturday.

Co-founded by Millie Hand and husband Dan, she says: “Brighton is the home of our business and therefore feels like the perfect place to host our first-ever pop-up. It’s a city that thrives on individuality, creativity and fun values that are at the heart of everything we do.

“People are always asking to try our jewellery on in person. We always thought a shop would be cool. Most people would keep things simple for their first pop-up but luckily for you we are plagued by the burning need for adoration and approval. We are working with an actor, set designer, tattoo artist and tons more to transport you in mind, body and soul to a classic 80s office rat race.”
