Ilhan Omar wants Randy Fine expelled for ‘genocidal’ rhetoric against Muslims

U.S. Rep. Ilhan Omar, one of the first Muslim women in Congress, wants U.S. Rep. Randy Fine expelled for Islamophobic remarks.

The Minnesota Democrat’s campaign sent out an email blast that called for Fine, an Atlantic Coast Republican, to be kicked out of the job he won in an April Special Election.

“Randy Fine is a disgusting, violent racist who is unfit for office. He should be removed from Congress,” the email reads. Her congressional office did not return requests for comment.

It specifically cites comments Fine made in a House committee hearing stating about “mainstream Muslims” specifically, “I don’t know how you make peace with those who seek your destruction, I think you destroy them first.” Fine shared the clip of his comments online.

Days later, he detailed acts of violence committed by Muslim terrorists recently in Australia, Israel and in the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in 2001, then called for the ban of immigration by Muslims into the U.S. and the expulsion of most already here legally.

“It is time for a Muslim travel ban, radical deportations of all mainstream Muslim legal and illegal immigrants, and citizenship revocations wherever possible,” Fine posted. “Mainstream Muslims have declared war on us. The least we can do is kick them the hell out of America.”

The string of comments prompted outrage from national groups including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

“If any elected official had called for the genocide of all ‘mainstream Jews’ or ‘mainstream Christians,’ their career would rightfully be over,” reads a CAIR statement. “Although Mr. Fine has made hateful and genocidal remarks in the past, his explicit call for the destruction of all ‘mainstream Muslims’ leaves no doubt that he is a bigoted sociopath unworthy of a seat in Congress. Every leader and member of the U.S. House of Representatives must condemn Randy Fine and demand his resignation.”

Omar’s campaign urged her political supporters to sign a petition calling for Fine to be expelled. That links to a page where people can also donate to her campaign.

The email suggests Fine’s rhetoric has threatened far worse against Omar and other Muslims holding office.

“He has called Ilhan a ‘Muslim terrorist’ and issued a thinly-veiled death threat. He’s moved to try to denaturalize (New York City Mayor-elect) Zohran Mamdani, and has threatened the same towards Ilhan,” the email reads.

It goes on to say Fine’s latest comment “lets the mask slip fully off” and counts as a “plainly genocidal statement.”

But Fine, a Jewish lawmaker and ardent defender of Israel, took umbrage at Omar calling for his ouster from Congress for pointing at violence committed by Muslims.

“Ilhan Omar just called for my expulsion from Congress,” he posted on X. “Apparently her Muslim terrorist pals and Somali scam freeloaders aren’t happy. Good. I’ve got three words for Ilhan. Go for it.”
