Hundreds Trapped By Blizzard While Climbing

Nearly 1,000 climbers were trapped on Mt. Everest by a blizzard … and, while several hundred are safely down, a majority are still stuck up there.
The BBC — citing Chinese state media — reports rescure efforts are underway, with authorities and locals in the area teaming up to get people off the world’s tallest mountain.
About 350 people are already safely down from the mountain … but the rest are still fighting and braving the elements.
A large snowfall began Friday night … pelting the eastern slopes of the mountain in Tibet — a popular spot for hikers. Reuters reports authorities have made contact with the remaining hikers on the mountain.
BBC also reports heavy rains in Nepal has triggered landslides and floods … which have led to the death of 47 people.
Everest is a notoriously dangerous mountain to climb … with more than 400 people dying while trying to reach the peak.

Shooter Egged On In Chicken Dispute

A man in Florida walked into a bar and got into a heated argument about how many eggs chickens can lay … and then he grabbed a gun and opened fire … and no, this isn’t a joke.
Cops in Port St. Lucie say 44-year-old Peter Riera fired shots Tuesday morning outside Harper’s Pub … and police body camera footage, obtained by TMZ, shows Riera being taken into custody.
Police say Riera got into an argument with three people outside the pub who he claimed were trying to con him.
Riera raises chickens and the dispute was about how many eggs chickens can lay … cops told WPTV-TV.
For some reason, the argument got heated and Riera allegedly fired four shots from a .45-caliber Glock. Cops say Riera was paranoid and thought the folks he was arguing with were out to get him.
Cops say everyone involved was drinking … and, fortunately, no one was injured.
Riera is being held without bond as he faces multiple criminal charges … and two of the people he allegedly shot at ended up getting arrested during the police response. They were busted for resisting officers.
No word who is caring for Riera’s chickens while he’s in custody.

Congressman Pat Harrigan has been keeping up with Harvey Levin‘s OWTA — which stands for “Out With Their Asses” — and he told us on TMZ Live he’s on board.
With the federal government shutdown now in its record-setting 37th day, Harrigan told us, “The only thing that’s assured during a government shutdown is that the American people lose, and we’re watching the American people lose in real time.”
And for that reason, the Republican representing North Carolina thinks Harvey makes a good point by proposing every congressperson’s office be up for grabs next election.

Harvey points out, “For more than 200 years, this country has been able to operate because Congress has been able to compromise and negotiate. They can’t do it now.”
According to Harrigan, the major problem is that we — as a nation — not only disagree on solutions, we can’t even agree on the problems. Fortunately, Harrigan had a pitch to solve this … more veterans in elected office.
He said, “One thing I’ll tell you about veterans in Congress … we really don’t argue about reality. It doesn’t matter whether we’re conservative or whether we’re liberal … we actually understand the problems that America faces, and we don’t argue over the problem statements.”

Harrigan is a former Army Special Forces officer. He ran for — and won — a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives, representing North Carolina’s 10th congressional district in 2024.
He’s just the latest to give validity to the OWTA movement, joining a growing list of sympathizers which includes Maxine Waters and Hakeem Jeffries.
