Sweet gesture from Lakers head coach JJ Redick — he held a special basketball clinic on his day off on Sunday for kids who have been impacted by the recent wildfires in L.A.

Los Angeles’ sideline manager put on the one-of-a-kind camp in conjunction with his LA Strong Sports foundation … inviting a bunch of little tykes to help learn ball at the Lakers’ practice facility in El Segundo.

Redick spoke to the campers before giving them pointers on jump shots and defense … and check out some of the pics the Lakers shared from the event — everyone seemed thrilled.

The fires, of course, directly impacted Redick … he lost his Pacific Palisades home in one of the blazes — and he was super emotional talking about the destruction in the days after learning the news.

Redick’s kids, too, lost a massive NBA memorabilia collection in the January inferno … though throughout the last few months, players have been helping them build it back up.

Don’t expect Sunday’s camp to be the last good deed from Redick — he and his foundation have promised to help build “a safe, welcoming space where individuals and families can come together to play, grow, and compete” in L.A.

8:02 AM PT — Some good news for Royals fans — India was listed in the starting lineup for Monday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers … so it sounds like he’ll be fully recovered in time for first pitch at 1:10 PM CT.

A scary scene unfolded for Kansas City Royals second baseman Jonathan India on Sunday … when he took a fastball right off his head — forcing him to leave the game.

It all went down during the Royals’ series finale against the Cleveland Guardians. Up 6-2 heading into the last inning, Cleveland brought in closer Emmanuel Clase to wrap things up.

After initially brushing India off the plate with a 97 MPH fastball … the very next pitch went right at India’s noggin — clocking in at 99 on the speed gun.

“[Clase] threw a pitch that he doesn’t ever throw before, which was a four-seam fastball. His first one of the year. And then the next pitch, trying to come back up and in. You got to get it.”

“Obviously, I’m upset by it. I’m more upset for John, because we don’t know what’s going on with him right now. So it sucks.”

Tragedy has hit San Diego … a 9-year-old girl died just hours after undergoing dental surgery under general anesthesia.

The unnamed girl had surgery at Dreamtime Dentistry in Vista, California on March 18, according to NBC 7 San Diego and Fox 5 San Diego. She was moved to a recovery room, discharged, and slept during the car ride home. She continued to sleep at home … her parents said she was unresponsive in bed when they checked on her later.

She was rushed to Rady Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

His statement said the girl was referred to Dreamtime Dentistry for dental treatment under general anesthesia due to her age and anxiety. She was closely monitored throughout the procedure by several experienced dentists, with no complications observed.

He added when she was discharged into her mother’s care, she was in stable condition — awake, with stable vital signs, and protective reflexes intact.
