The Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is inviting families to celebrate Easter early at its Fourth Annual Easter Egg Hunt in Tampa.
The event offers a free, family-friendly event that blends holiday festivities with community outreach efforts. Scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, it features age-specific egg hunts, interactive activities and opportunities for families to engage with deputies and specialty units in an informal setting.
Sheriff Chad Chronister said the event has become a meaningful tradition for both deputies and the community. The event has expanded significantly since its inception, and organizers are responding by increasing the number of eggs for families to hunt from 8,000 to 10,000 this year. Roughly 1,000 participants are expected to attend.
“This is one of our favorite traditions each year,” Chronister said. “Seeing families come together, kids smiling, and our deputies connecting with the community in such a positive way is what it’s all about. We truly look forward to this event and the memories it creates.”
The annual egg hunt is part of efforts to foster trust between law enforcement and the community. The Sheriff’s Office is partnering with the Junior League of Tampa, Hillsborough County Parks & Recreation and the University Area Community Development Corporation to coordinate the event, emphasizing a focus on wellness, safety and family engagement.
The free event takes place at the Victor Crist Community Center in Tampa, located at 14013 N. 22nd Street.
