Henry Cejudo Edges Javon Walton at Misfits Miami | Fight Results & Recap

Henry Cejudo Steals the Show Over Javon Walton at Misfits in Miami

Henry Cejudo got the better of Javon “Wanna” Walton in a closely contested main event in Miami. The former two-division UFC champion and Olympic gold medalist earned a split decision on Saturday night at the latest Misfits event in Miami.

The 39-year-old went the distance in a four-round fight in his professional debut, dropping the first round before rallying back to take the next three. Having enjoyed a hugely successful career in the UFC, Cejudo previously captured the flyweight and bantamweight championships simultaneously, standing as one of only four fighters to ever achieve this feat. The Los Angeles native was originally scheduled to fight popular streamer and influencer boxer DeenTheGreat, but was forced to pull out due to shoulder injury concerns, leading Walton to step in on short notice.

Walton, aged 20, is best known for starring in the hit TV show Euphoria, but also carries an extensive amateur boxing background with multiple titles, including two junior silver medals and a Georgia state boxing championship. Carrying a professional record of three wins and one draw going into the bout, Walton remains in the early stages of his combat sports career.

Co-Main Event & Undercard Action

The co-main event featured the triumphant return of Tony Ferguson, who secured his third straight win under the Misfits banner by defeating Olympian Mahmoud Sebie. Like Cejudo, the 42-year-old UFC veteran from Oxnard is finding a new chapter in combat sports with Misfits. Ferguson retained the Misfits middleweight title after stopping Sebie in the second round of an eventful fight that included an exciting opening frame where Ferguson was knocked down.

Meanwhile, Misfits rising star FoxTheG continued his ascent with a hard-fought win over BKFC bantamweight champion Justin Ibarrola across six rounds. Fox improved his record to 5-0 while handing Ibarrola his first boxing loss, despite Ibarrola’s impressive 9-0 record in bare-knuckle boxing.

Reflecting on the bout, Fox noted: “It’s crazy to be here against pro fighters like that, he brought it though. He’s a BKFC champion for a reason, I’m a champ, he’s still a champ in his domain and I’ve got a lot of respect for him after that.”

The undercard featured three additional bouts, highlighted by a devastating second-round knockout by Louis Russell over Dawson Barrett. The reality TV star from Aldershot, UK, described his victorious performance in three simple words: “pretty, elegant and devastating.”
