Maison&Objet, the must-attend event for professionals in decoration, design, and lifestyle, closed on Monday, September 8, at Paris Nord Villepinte. More than 2,500 exhibitors participated, with 40% being international brands—reinforcing the event’s reputation as a global crossroads, despite current geopolitical tensions.

For this year’s edition, the organizers opted to streamline the event by closing two halls, resulting in a 7–8% drop in exhibitor numbers. This repositioning was intentional. “We’re aiming for a more compact show, with a more stable offering, particularly in the objects sector,” said Guillaume Prot, the show director, during a press briefing.

The September edition, which caters more to retailers, differs from the January edition, which typically targets specifiers and the hospitality industry. The consolidation of the Fashion & Accessories, Gift & Play, and Kids sections into Hall 7 enabled a curated selection of products specifically designed for concept stores. Brands like responsible bag label Rive Droite Paris had a large presence, alongside Caval sneakers, Côtelé Paris ready-to-wear (which recently changed ownership), and Méduse shoes. The same hall also showcased Yoto story boxes and Legami Milano’s best-selling accessories. “We’ve put the brands back on track, and the feedback is very good,” said Prot.

Amid global shifts—such as newly imposed U.S. tariffs—the show saw a drop in visitors from the U.S. and India, partially offset by a notable increase in attendance from the Middle East. “This year’s show welcomed more retail buyers, while the expected decline in the prescription and hospitality sectors was something we closely monitored,” added the director.

This edition also marked a moment of transition for SAFI, the event’s organizing body, with the announced departure of Managing Director Mélanie Leroy, who had served in the role for two years. Despite this leadership change, Maison&Objet reaffirmed its ambition to remain a forward-looking platform for trend forecasting and innovation.

Looking ahead, organizers are considering adjustments to the event calendar starting in 2027 to avoid the congested back-to-school period and optimize scheduling. In the meantime, a conference will be held at Maison Baccarat in Paris on September 25.
