Moms for America Action, a subsidiary of the conservative Moms for America group, is backing Ola Hawatmeh in Florida’s 19th Congressional District.
Hawatmeh is running to replace outgoing U.S. Rep. Byron Donalds.
Founded in 2004, Moms for America is a national movement composed of more than a half-million moms working on a platform supporting moms “who love God, respect life, revere family, and cherish freedom.”
“MFAA is proud to endorse Ola Hawatmeh for Congress in FL-19,” Moms for America Action provided in a statement.
Hawatmeh is running in a crowded GOP Primary to replace Donalds in the Southwest Florida district, including Madison Cawthorn, Stephen Elliott, John Fratto, Catalina Lauf, Jim Oberweis, Mike Pedersen, Jim Schwartzel and John Strand. Democrat Howard Sapp is also running.
“As a mother of three proud Americans, I am honored to receive the support of Moms for America, a God-loving organization that is focused on supporting American families and our freedoms and liberties,” Hawatmeh said.
Donalds has represented the ruby red district since 2021. He’s now running for Governor rather than seeking re-election. The district includes all or part of the cities of Cape Coral, Fort Myers, Fort Myers Beach, Sanibel, Bonita Springs, Naples and Marco Island, and unincorporated areas in Collier and Lee counties.
The Moms for America Action nod follows another from the Florida State Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which has promoted the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs since 2000.
Prior to that, Hawatmeh earned nods from U.S. Reps. John McGuire of Virginia and Marlin Stutzman of Indiana, and state Rep. Meg Weinberger of Palm Beach Gardens. Weinberger’s broad support from notable backers of President Donald Trump earned her the nickname “MAGA Meg.”
Hawatmeh, meanwhile, also has support from Trump adviser and economist Stephen Moore.
Hawatmeh is unsurprisingly running as an “unwavering America First patriot,” and she’s a self-described accomplished business owner, designer, philanthropist and conservative activist. She owns Missouri-based makeover and style companies and previously worked as a senior policy adviser to U.S. Rep. Victoria Spartz of Indiana.
Philanthropic endeavors include the Wounded Warrior Project and Hope for Heroes, and she is the co-founder of the Middle East Women’s Coalition, having been born in the U.S. to Jordanian immigrants.
