Before Pam Bondi was fired as Attorney General, she was one of the most prominent Floridians in a Donald Trump administration flush with Sunshine State residents. And Florida’s political class has plenty to say about her departure.
U.S. Sen. Rick Scott, a Naples Republican, posted: “Pam Bondi is a great friend and one of the best lawyers I’ve ever met. She did an incredible job as Florida’s Attorney General when I was Governor, and she has been an incredible U.S. Attorney General. Ann and I are proud of all Pam has accomplished to make America safe again and restore the rule of law. Thank you, AG Pam Bondi!”
U.S. Rep. Lois Frankel, a West Palm Beach Democrat, posted: “Pam Bondi embarrassed herself — and our country — by doing Donald Trump’s bidding. More than ever, her subpoenaed testimony before the Oversight Committee is essential. Accountability demands it.”
U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost, an Orlando Democrat, issued a lengthy statement: “I have been calling for Pam Bondi to be impeached or fired, and I’m glad that has now happened. Her blatant disregard for the Constitution and her role in the continued cover-up of the Epstein files was and is despicable. For months, my office has been working to uncover this administration’s handling of the (Jeffrey) Epstein files, reviewing how records were managed, what was withheld, and how information was presented to the public. That work has raised serious concerns about transparency and accountability, and it is ongoing.”
U.S. Rep. Jimmy Patronis, a Fort Walton Beach Republican, issued a statement: “Attorney General Pam Bondi has been a tireless public servant who delivered real results and justice for the American people,” he said. “I wish her continued success in her next chapter and look forward to working closely with Todd Blanche and President Trump to Make America Great Again.”
U.S. Rep. Darren Soto, a Kissimmee Democrat, posted: “AG Bondi will be remembered for destroying the independence of the Department of Justice and turning a blind eye to Trump’s rampant corruption. Hopefully AG (Todd) Blanche will learn from her mistakes.”
U.S. Rep. Dan Webster, a Clermont Republican, posted: “Thank you to Pam Bondi for her service to our nation. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to the rule of law and to serving the American people. We are grateful for her public service, and wish her success in the next chapter.”
