Boca Raton Deputy Mayor Fran Nachlas has picked up two new endorsements in her bid for Mayor, adding the support from both first responders and the city’s business community.
The Fire Fighters of Boca Raton, IAFF Local 1560, and Business Leaders United for Boca Raton (BLU-PAC) — the political arm of the Boca Raton Chamber of Commerce — formally endorsed Nachlas, her campaign announced.
The backing follows an earlier endorsement from the Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 35. In its endorsement letter, the Fraternal Order of Police cited Nachlas’ record on public safety and her work with law enforcement during her time on the City Council and as Deputy Mayor. The organization praised her “consistent support for public safety, dedication to community partnership, and commitment to responsible leadership.”
Nachlas has demonstrated “a clear understanding of the needs of both our residents and the officers who serve them,” the letter continued.
Fire Fighters Local 1560 echoed that sentiment, pointing to Nachlas’ long-standing support for Fire-Rescue services in Boca Raton. The union thanked her for her willingness to serve in public office and for her continued support of firefighters, adding that it looks forward to working with her in the future.
Nachlas said the endorsements carry particular meaning given her background and her focus on public safety and community well-being.
“Our first responders know what it takes to keep a community safe — and their trust means the world to me,” Nachlas said. “As a former surgical nurse and longtime volunteer, I’ve spent my life taking care of people. On the City Council and now as Deputy Mayor, I’ve worked closely with our police officers and firefighters to strengthen public safety and ensure our first responders have what they need to protect every neighborhood in Boca.”
Nachlas also highlighted her work with business leaders to support a strong local economy.
“These endorsements aren’t just an honor — they’re a responsibility. I’m committed to continuing the partnerships that keep Boca one of the safest and most welcoming cities in Florida.”
Nachlas is competing for the position against businessman Mike Liebelson and Boca Raton City Council member Andy Thomson.
In addition to her role as Boca Deputy Mayor, Nachlas serves on the Palm Beach Metropolitan Planning Organization Governing Board and the Florida League of Cities Development, Code Compliance, and Redevelopment Committee.
The Boca Raton municipal election is scheduled for March 10.
