Renowned lawyer Eric Ludin has joined Shumaker’s St. Petersburg office, where he’ll serve as Of Counsel.
Ludin has been in practice for more than 40 years, lending extensive experience to Shumaker’s portfolio, particularly in commercial real estate.

“As the real estate landscape in St. Petersburg continues to experience high demand, Eric will be an asset to clients facing complex commercial real estate disputes,” said Mindi Richter, Managing Partner of Shumaker’s St. Petersburg office. “He is well known in — and deeply familiar with — the legal scene in this region, and we look forward to seeing the impactful difference he makes for our clients.”
Ludin is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Mediator, making him a commodity among other lawyers to resolve client disputes through mediation. Ludin also has experience drafting commercial leases and other lease documents such as amendments and assignments.
Ludin is also active in the local bar, including to help establish the St. Petersburg Bar Foundation, for which he served as President for four terms. Ludin has also served on the planning committee for the Foundation’s annual professional seminar for the past 12 years.
Ludin also served as the President of the St. Petersburg Bar Association and chaired the 6th Judicial Grievance Committee for the Florida Bar.
In addition to his legal work, Ludin also serves as a board member of Menorah Life, including previously as its Chair. He has also held leadership positions with Congregation B’nai Israel and the Annual Campaign on the Pinellas County Jewish Foundation.
“I’m thrilled to join Shumaker’s robust litigation and real estate practices,” Ludin said. “The real estate market in St. Petersburg, and Florida at large, is becoming increasingly complicated as growth skyrockets, and I look forward to helping clients navigate challenges and focus on running their businesses.”
