eBay Circular Fashion Fund returns with $300k looking for innovative eco firms in Europe, North America

eBay’s Circular Fashion Fund is returning for a fourth year as the digital retail giant continues to reinforce its “long-term commitment to advancing circularity in the fashion industry”.

This year, the programme is expanding its reach across the EU, Switzerland and Canada, opening applications to more businesses and start-ups “developing innovative solutions that extend the life of clothing and reduce textile waste”.

The annual programme, first launched in 2022 supporting entrepreneurs tackling the fashion and textile industry’s environmental footprint, from production to end-of-life, now want to select eight businesses with each receiving $50,000 (£37,000) in funding, alongside mentoring to help develop and scale their ideas.

One standout business will also be named the Global Winner of the Circular Fashion Fund, with the opportunity to receive an additional $300,000 investment from eBay Ventures.

With this expansion, eBay’s total global funding through the programme is set to reach $1.9 million by the end of 2026. 

Alexis Hoopes, vice-president and global head of fashion at eBay, said: “Over the past three years, we’ve seen scalable solutions emerge in areas like textile recycling, resale and repair — but these businesses need capital and support to grow. With this expansion, we’re helping more founders build the infrastructure to make circular fashion an integral part of the fashion industry.”

Applications for the 2026 Circular Fashion Fund are now open and will close on 8 March.

Bollywood celebrity Samantha Ruth Prabhu has launched Mile Collective with co-founders Harshita Motaparthi and Pravishta Nadella as a comfort-driven activewear and lifestyle label, designed for Indian bodies.

“Mile Collective reflects how I choose to live today,” said Mile Collective’s co-founder Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a press release on January 15. “Movement, for me, isn’t just about fitness. It’s about balance, intention, and ease through the day. I found myself reaching for Mile every single day; it became a habit. The pieces look effortlessly fab, feel like a soft cloud yet snug in all the right places, and the colours are just beautiful. It’s comfort you can feel and clothing that makes your day feel better.”
 
The brand is a new incarnation of Mile Active, which was originally established in 2023 by Harshita Motaparthi with the aim of creating activewear specifically for Indian body types and the county’s climates. Pravishta Nadella later joined as co-founder then Samantha Ruth Prabhu also came on board as a co-founder, drawn in by the brand’s focus on wellness, according to the label.

Now, Mile Active has been reimagined as Mile Collective, with the aim of sparking a new phase of growth and expanding its offering. Mile Collective’s debut collection is titled “OnTheGo” and seeks to take the wearer from workouts to travel and lounging at home with minimalist separates in hues including charcoal and burgundy. Mile Collective’s e-commerce website is scheduled to launch soon to offer its clothing pan-India.
 
“Mile was never about pushing harder,” said brand co-founder Harshita Motaparthi. “It was about creating pieces that feel good to live in. Mile Collective is an extension of that thinking. Clothes that support your day, without demanding anything from you.”

Munich Fabric Start (MFS) is gearing up for its January 27–29 edition. Designers, product managers, and buyers will be able to explore around 1,000 spring/ summer 2027 collections from international fabric and trim manufacturers at the MOC Munich.

With the lead theme of “Pleasure,” the trade show’s organisers aim to spotlight “attitude, sensuality, and emotional materiality” over the three days of the fair. “After seasons of restraint, spring/ summer ’27 marks a deliberate counter-design: optimism, sensuality, and creative freedom take the place of pragmatism and neutrality. The Design Studios in Hall 4 are now positioned even more centrally. And the sustainable sourcing area Resource is also set to have a stronger presence, located directly next to The Source in Hall 1.

Ferragamo building on fire near Florence, no injuries

The fire has been put ⁠out and no one was injured, they said. Two teams ‍and ‌two fire engines intervened at ⁠12:50 p.m. (1150 ‌GMT) in Sesto Fiorentino, ‌a north-western suburb of the Tuscan capital city, which is home to several factories ‍serving the luxury leather industry.

“The firefighters extinguished the fire, ‌which ⁠affected ​the extraction system outside ⁠the ​industrial building” and cooling operations were underway, the Florence fire ​department said in a statement.

Ferragamo was not immediately ⁠available for ⁠comment.
