Deichmann to reopen upgraded Manchester Arndale store this month

Major European footwear retailer Deichmann is set to reopen an upgraded store in Manchester. Following a £720,000 investment, the expanded 6,880 sq ft unit will open at the Arndale Shopping Centre on Corporation Street on 27 October.

The store will stock its full range of footwear for men, women and children including exclusive lines from brands such as Adidas, Nike, Skechers and Fila alongside its own-brand fashion lines including bags.

It will also hold a public reopening celebration on 1 November with in-store offers and family activities throughout the day. These will include free shoes for the first 25 customers (up to £30 each); 50%-off selected lines; and a spin-the-wheel game featuring exclusive discounts.

In its results for fiscal 2024 published in April, Deichmann group generated a gross revenue of around €8.7 billion, a slight increase over the €8.5 billion recorded in fiscal 2023. Net of exchange rate effects, the footwear retailer’s revenue in 2024 grew by 2.3%.

The Essen, Germany-based business also said it had “once again sold more than 180 million pairs of shoes in its stores and e-shops worldwide” during the period.

Deichmann’s present in over 30 countries, and in 2024 generated around 68% of its revenue outside Germany. At the time it operated nearly 4,700 stores, stable with the previous year, as well as around 40 e-stores.
