The Christian Family Coalition of Florida will feature a rising conservative star Saturday at the organization’s Freedom Gala Dinner in South Florida.
Attorney General James Uthmeier will be the headline speaker at the event, which will include Republican leaders from across the state. The event is taking place at Trump National Doral country club in Miami beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Uthmeier has been a rising star in the Republican Party in Florida this year since he was appointed by Gov. Ron DeSantis to be Attorney General. Uthmeier was DeSantis’ former Chief of Staff. He replaced Ashley Moody after she was tapped to fill Florida’s open U.S. Senate seat vacated when Marco Rubio was selected to be U.S. Secretary of State in President Donald Trump’s administration.
Trump has already mixed it up in the race for Florida Attorney General next November. He openly endorsed Uthmeier earlier this year.
No major Republican candidate has stepped forward to run against Utmeier. Florida House Speaker Daniel Perez had been considering a run for the AG job, but backed out when Trump threw his support behind Uthmeier in August.
“In his next term, James will continue to work tirelessly to Ensure Law and Order, Uphold our Constitutional Rights, and Protect our always under siege Second Amendment. James Uthmeier is a Strong Conservative Fighter and Prosecutor, and has my Complete and Total Endorsement — HE WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN,” Trump posted to social media.
Former state Sen. Jose Javier Rodriguez, a Miami-Dade Democrat, is in the race and for now, is the only Democrat running for the top prosecutor’s job.
Other GOP dignitaries will address the crowd at the Christian Family Coalition event Saturday including U.S. Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart, who will be seen via video address. State Sen. Ana Mari Rodriguez, state Rep. Alex Rizo, state Rep. Tom Fabricio and Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections Alina Garcia are all also scheduled to address the crowd. The event is hosted by Doral Mayor Christi Fraga.
There will also be moments set aside to honor conservative commentator and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk who was assassinated in Utah in September. Turning Point’s Faith National Director of Pastoral Relations Chip Moore will offer words as part of that recognition.
