Birmingham’s Bullring and Grand Central, about to be fully owned by property giant Hammerson, has welcomed two new additions and one revamp to its extensive retail line-up in August: footwear brand Schuh, beauty major Space NK and lifestyle/interiors specialist Søstrene Grene.
Space NK
First, Space NK has chosen Bullring as its regional flagship, becoming the higher-end beauty retailer’s largest store outside of London, spanning over 4,356 sq ft.
Located on Upper-Level East, adjacent to AllSaints, Coach, Dr Martens and Selfridges, the new Space NK features a dedicated consultation area for make-up and skincare, complete with interactive ‘play tables’ for customers to test products.
Beauty has remained one of Bullring’s top-performing categories, with sustained demand attracting leading global brands to the destination. Space NK joins a flagship Sephora, and a Midlands debut for Pureseoul alongside established operators Kiko Milano and MAC.
Meanwhile, Schuh’s Bullring reopening reveals a full store transformation. The revamped location reflects the brand’s “style-conscious, experience-driven customer base” offering over 100 brands including Nike, Adidas and UGG.
Schuh’s head of VM Damon Kirk said: “This new store is about more than aesthetics, it reflects who we are now: elevated, expressive, and inclusive. Every design choice, from the layout to the lighting, has been crafted to connect on a deeper level with our shoppers and celebrate the energy they bring through our doors.”
To coincide with the reopening, the store showcased its latest campaign with Nike, spotlighting Baes FC, an East London grassroots football team created for women, trans and non-binary people of Asian heritage.
Danish brand Søstrene Grene has made its city debut at Grand Central, opening a 3,500 sq ft store. The store brings Søstrene Grene’s signature Scandinavian-inspired selection of affordable homewares, furniture, lifestyle products, and craft essentials.

The interior reflects the brand’s Danish aesthetic, with minimal styling and wooden accents throughout.
Mikkel Grene, CEO and co-owner of Søstrene Grene, said: “This new store is more than just a retail space. It is a place where customers can slow down, discover carefully curated products and experience the calming spirit of hygge in the heart of one of the UK’s busiest shopping destinations.”
