BREEDERS’ CUP JUVENILE STARS DAY – FRIDAY, OCT. 30TH
It has arrived, and we are SO excited for these two days of racing royalty at the 2026 Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland.
Let ‘em Run will deliver a new and improved format, where we will give our top three choices in each race as well as some bets to consider. There are so many fun betting options to consider on both days. If you have a strong opinion, build your wagers around that opinion, and there could be a big payday awaiting!
We will take a look at the five Breeders’ Cup races to be run on Friday, which cover Races 6 through 10 at Keeneland, where we expect fast and firm conditions.
So let’s go!!
Race 6: 2:55 PM EST – BC Juvenile Turf Sprint (Gr. 1)
- Distance / Surface / Purse: 5 ½ Furlongs (Turf) | $1,000,000
- Analysis: A great race to open the Breeders’ Cup weekend with. There are 12 runners in the body of the race, and 8 are Euro entries. The #10 Harper’s Corner (8-1) with aggressive jockey Paco Lopez aboard may try to take it to the Euros on the front end. He will very likely have to beat #3 Libertango (5-2), perhaps the best of the Euros entered. Interesting to note, this is her 1st time needing to take a turn in a race, as she has only run in straight races. The tight turns at Keeneland may be tough for her… maybe.
- Top 3: #10, #3, #9
- Recommended Wager:$3 All Turf Pick 3:
3, 10 / 9 / 2, 5 = $12 total (Covers Races 6, 8, and 10)
Race 7: 3:35 PM EST – BC Juvenile Fillies (Gr. 1)
- Distance / Surface / Purse: 1 1/16 Miles (Dirt) | $2,000,000
- Analysis: Keep an eye on these gals, as next year’s Kentucky Oaks winner may come right out of this race. The likely favorite is the #10 Emphatic (9-5), looking for her 4th win in a row and getting better each time for trainer Brendan Walsh. If there is any horse who can upset, we like #8 Manuka Honey (10-1) with jockey Luis Saez teaming up with trainer Brian Lynch—a formidable duo winning at 36% overall. Breeding suggests that she may very well like 2 turns here.
- Top 3: #8, #10, #2
Race 8: 4:15 PM EST – BC Juvenile Fillies Turf (Gr. 1)
- Distance / Surface / Purse: 1 Mile (Turf) | $1,000,000
- Analysis: Another very interesting race on the menu, with lots of Euros to consider again. The #9 Sun Goddess (IRE) (6-5) will possibly be the shortest-priced favorite all day, and rightfully so. Trainer Aidan O’Brien has said,“This may be the best horse I have ever trained…” High praise coming from a top-notch trainer who has trained some of the absolute best horses in the world. If there is an American horse to root for, the #12 Domestic Agenda (8-1) will have to overcome a wide trip, but jockey Flavien Prat may be the guy to do it.
- Top 3: #9, #12, #10
Race 9: 4:55 PM EST – BC Juvenile (Gr. 1)
- Distance / Surface / Purse: 1 1/16 Miles (Dirt) | $2,000,000
- Analysis: We may find the next winner of the 1st Saturday in May right here in this field. The #2 Gaudreau has been scratched due to a fever and would have been a strong pace factor if in. We are still on the #6 American History (9-2), with John Velazquez guiding this colt once again. If JV can give this runner a better break, he may not have to come from as far off the pace. The #5 Hughes (1-1) will be the other shortest price of the day, and the team of trainer Bob Baffert and jockey Flavien Prat excel in big races.
- Top 3: #6, #5, #7
- Recommended Wager:Special Double Wager:
5, 6, 7 / 5, 8 = $45 total ($5 Double across Race 9 on Friday & Race 12 on Saturday)
Race 10: 5:35 PM EST – BC Juvenile Turf (Gr. 1)
- Distance / Surface / Purse: 1 Mile (Turf) | $1,000,000
- Analysis: Another turf race loaded with options… and price plays. The #5 How’s Al Today (3-1) is more than a Kentucky Downs specialist, in our opinion. The breeding says this runner could take to any turf track, and jockey Brian J. Hernandez Jr. is looking to win 3 in a row on this colt. One of the price plays in the field is #2 Avec Toi (10-1) with jockey Flavien Prat up. This runner has good early speed, blinkers go on, and you can draw a line through his last race; Prat will have him out for the lead when the gates open. The #10 Folsom Blues (7-2) will be trying firm ground for the 1st time, which will be interesting. Racing in three Grade 1 races may be the best reason to back this runner.
- Top 3: #2, #5, #10
- Recommended Wager:Special Double Wager:
2, 5, 10 / 10, 12 = $45 total ($5 Double across Race 10 on Friday & Race 11 on Saturday)
