Andy Dick has gotten lucky if he mainly uses crack cocaine to get high, our law enforcement sources say … because fentanyl isn’t generally mixed in with the drug.
Two current federal Drug Enforcement Administration officials tell TMZ … mixing fentanyl with crack’s a fool’s errand. The substance burns off with heat — so putting it in the drug wouldn’t produce the desired effect.
The chemical structure of fentanyl breaks down once someone lights up the rocks … and it loses its potency. We’re told the drug will still have some effect, but it simply won’t be as strong — and it certainly won’t have a lethal effect on a person.
Fentanyl is mostly snorted or injected … making drugs like cocaine or heroin more likely to contain some of the killer powder. Despite his overdose this week, Dick has been arrested for cocaine possession in the past.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Andy admitted to only smoking crack on a Hollywood street Tuesday … but he more than likely also consumed an opioid, because he was revived with a Narcan shot. William Bodner, the former head of L.A.’s DEA Office, tells us Narcan only reverses the effects of opioid overdoses, such as fentanyl or heroin, not crack cocaine.
Bodner says crack is a stimulant that would produce a stroke or a heart attack in people who smoke too much of it, sending them to the hospital. That’s not what happened to Andy — and Bodner says the big question is whether Andy knew what he was smoking, was tricked into taking another drug … or simply didn’t care what he was ingesting.
Worth noting … we’ve also talked to sources who say Andy’s far more into alcohol than drugs — another reason Dick wouldn’t run into fentanyl all that often.
We broke the story … Andy suffered an apparent overdose earlier this week, with video showing the slumped-over star unable to keep himself upright while a bystander administered Narcan.
During Wednesday’s interview, Andy invited our cameraman into his Los Angeles home and revealed he overdosed on crack cocaine because he doesn’t “mind doing a little crack every now and then.” Andy also told us he has no plans to go back to rehab.

Zooey Deschanel just shared an emotional tribute to Rob Reiner … fondly looking back on her time working with him on “New Girl.”
In a social media post Monday morning, just hours after we reported on Rob and his wife’s deaths, Zooey says … “My heart is broken. Rob Reiner was the absolute warmest, funniest, most generous of spirits.”
She continues … “A truly good human being. An incredible artist and such a playful and fun collaborator. I cherish the time we spent working together and the many films he made that have shaped who I am.”
Zooey adds … “Rob and his lovely wife Michele were always so kind and it brought me so much joy any time I was lucky enough to see them.”

As we reported … Rob and Michele were found dead Sunday in their Brentwood home. Their son, Nick, has been arrested on suspicion of murdering his parents.
Zooey says, “I’m absolutely devastated. Sending so much love to their family and friends.”
As you know, Zooey starred on “New Girl,” and Rob played her onscreen father.

Jason Momoa went full Papa Bear mode over his daughter Lola lolani in an incredibly tense, caught-on-camera showdown with a photographer!
It all went down Sunday night outside West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont … Jason clocked a photog snapping pics as he walked out with Lola — his daughter with ex-wife Lisa Bonet — and saw red … charging over and barking, “Are you out of your f***ing mind? That’s my daughter!”
Jason get right up in the photog’s grill — he reaches for the camera, and a brief scuffle pops off as he demands the shots be deleted — though it doesn’t appear he actually lays hands on the photog.
Bottom line? A line was clearly crossed. And that’s saying something, since Jason’s never been super secretive about his kids, even bringing them along to plenty of red-carpet events before.
However it shook out, one thing’s clear — mess with Jason Momoa’s kids, and you’re asking for smoke!
