Amazon driver Bryson Morgan challenges Jessica Baker again in HD 17

The next blue van you see delivering packages in your neighborhood may be running to be your Representative in the House.

Bryson Morgan, an Amazon driver who ran last cycle when he was just 21 years old, has opened a campaign account in House District 17, where he will likely face Republican Rep. Jessica Baker.

Morgan, a Democrat, got 42% of the vote during the last General Election, but he’s confident his latest gig will help him connect with voters.

“I’m on the road every day, delivering to neighborhoods across Jacksonville, meeting working families where they live, and seeing firsthand the challenges people are facing, from rising costs to infrastructure issues,” Morgan said.

“That perspective matters. I know what it’s like to deal with gas prices, traffic, long hours, and the pressure working families are under. It keeps me grounded and focused on practical solutions, not political theater.”

Morgan is going to have to work hard to overcome the partisan contours of this Republican-friendly district, the registration of which was 41.2% GOP and 29.4% Democrat during the 2024 cycle, with no-party voters and third-party voters roughly equaling Democratic numbers.

Jessica Baker, the wife of political consultant Tim Baker, finished 2025 having raised more than $67,000, spending roughly $3,000 to date.

What Morgan lacks in resources he hopes to make up when it comes to issues.

“This time, I’m running with an even clearer focus, lowering everyday costs, strengthening public education, expanding economic opportunity, and bringing more transparency and accountability to Tallahassee. I’ve spent the past cycle listening, learning, and building stronger relationships across the district, and I’m coming back more prepared, more focused, and with a broader coalition of support,” he said.

“I believe voters are ready for leadership rooted in real world experience and real accountability, and I’m excited to earn their trust.”
