‘Terrance has a long track record of bringing people together behind a common cause.’

The Associated Industries of Florida is backing Terrance Freeman in race for Jacksonville-based House District 12.

“AIF is proud to support Terrance Freeman for Florida House District 12. From his time as a professional baseball player to his time on the Jacksonville City Council, Terrance has a long track record of bringing people together behind a common cause,” said AIF President and CEO Brewster Bevis.

“His professional background in workforce development for a successful electrical contracting business gives him a unique perspective we need in the Florida House to fight for Florida’s business community and continue to grow Florida’s workforce. AIF is proud to support his campaign, and we are confident he will continue to be a strong advocate for Florida’s job creators in the State House.”

Freeman, a Republican, is a former Jacksonville City Council President. He filed last week for the seat current held by Rep. Wyman Duggan, who is term-limited in 2026.

“As a husband and father of five, I know how important it is for Florida to have a thriving economy so families can achieve their version of the American Dream here in the Sunshine State,” Freeman said.

“Our state has so much to offer, but we must get the government out of the way so the private sector can continue to grow, innovate, and tackle important issues. I will never apologize for helping to create a better and more prosperous economy in order to lift up my fellow Floridians. I am humbled and grateful to have AIF’s support as I embark on this journey.”

HD 12 encompasses parts of Jacksonville’s Westside and Southside, crossing the St. Johns River. According to the most recent L2 voter data, the district’s electorate is 40.4% Republican and 33.4% Democrat, with the remainder registered as no-party voters or with a minor party.

In 2024, Donald Trump carried the district with 54% of the vote to Kamala Harris’ 44% as Duggan won re-election over Democrat Benjamin Sandlin 57%-43%.
