Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada showcases iconic pieces at the Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval in Portugal

Some of the most iconic pieces by multidisciplinary Spanish fashion designer Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada will be on display at the Palace of the Dukes of Cadaval in Évora, Portugal, beside the Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Diana, from next Saturday, January 10, in an exhibition entitled ‘Évora Luz,’ which runs until March 8.

“The Cadaval Palace invites you to discover ‘Évora Luz,’ a vibrant exhibition by the iconic Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, where colour, creativity, and identity converse with the Dukes of Cadaval collection,” reads a post on its Instagram account. “An artistic experience that transforms the historic space into a contemporary setting, celebrating creative freedom and the emotion of colour.”

This is a first-of-its-kind curatorial project in this historic space, founded in the 14th century on the ruins of a Moorish castle, now reimagined as a contemporary stage for the exclusive work of the Madrid-born designer- a GE (Grandee of Spain)- who has always embraced light, colour, and Pop Art.

In 2017, the aristocrat, born Águeda Isabel Ruiz de la Prada y Sentmenat, 13th Marquise of Castelldosríus and 29th Baroness of Santa Pau, also staged her third exhibition in Portugal, in Monsaraz in the Alentejo, featuring various runway creations.

In 2023, she launched her biography at Porto’s historic Livraria Lello and, in 2022, she took part in Portugal Fashion, with a significant proportion of her label’s garments produced in Riba d’Ave, Vila Nova de Famalicão.
