Officials have just revealed more information about the shooting that left 2 National Guard members in critical condition in D.C. … confirming the identity of the suspect and detailing what happened just blocks away from the White House.
The FBI, U.S. Attorney’s office, and the National Guard just updated the public about the tragic Washington, D.C. incident … officially confirming the shooter as a 29-year-old Afghan named Rahmanullah Lakanwal.
Jeanine Pirro, U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia, said the 2 National Guard members — 24-year-old Andrew Wolfe and 20-year-old Sarah Beckstrom — were ambushed by Lakanwal, who was armed with a .357 Smith & Wesson revolver … adding after the shooting, their fellow guardsmen quickly swooped in to subdue the suspect. She says she believes Wolfe and Beckstrom were sworn in about 24 hours before the shooting.
Pirro says the 2 remain in critical condition after undergoing surgery, and their families are with them … adding Lakanwal remains at a hospital under heavy guard. She notes that no additional people were harmed in the shooting.
As far as a background on the suspect, Pirro says he is believed to have a wife and 5 children in Washington state … and allegedly drove across the country with the intent to end up in D.C. She says Lakanwal allegedly came into the country under Joe Biden‘s Operation Allies Welcome — a program led by DHS to resettle vulnerable Afghans after the Taliban regained control in 2021.
Pirro says Lakanwal will be charged with 3 counts of assault with intent to kill while armed and possession of a firearm during a crime of violence — with him facing 15 years under the assault with intent to kill charge. She noted if the guardsmen do succumb to their injuries, the charge will become first-degree murder.
FBI director Kash Patel also spoke during the presser, saying this is an ongoing investigation of terrorism, and they’ve already conducted countless interviews with witnesses … as well as with people living in Lakanwal’s home. He noted Lakanwal had connections to U.S. forces in Afghanistan, as well.

BTW, Pirro went off on a reporter when they suggested the 2 victims were only in D.C. because of the president’s orders … raising her voice while saying she won’t even discuss whether Wolfe and Beckstrom should’ve been there —while praising Donald Trumpfor sending troops into the city.
As we reported, the soldiers were on “high visibility patrol” when the suspect allegedly approached and shot the two victims — there were multiple reports citing unnamed sources that the suspected shooter wasLakanwal.
Wolfe, one of the National Guard members shot on Wednesday, was identified by his former high school after the tragedy … saying their community was “deeply saddened” to learn what happened to one of their alumni.
West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey originally tweeted Wednesday that the 2 guardsmen were dead … but sent out another tweet 20 minutes later, saying his team was receiving “conflicting reports about the condition of our two Guard members and will provide additional updates once we receive more complete information.”

Timothy Busfield’s Accuser’s Mom I’ll Have His Ass!!!
Published
A former crew member of Timothy Busfield on the set of “The Cleaning Lady” is coming to his defense … slamming accusations the director sexually abused two child actors and claiming the kids’ mother vowed to have TB’s ass!
According to new court documents, obtained by TMZ, Christopher Ford — a veteran Hollywood security guard — says he attended a lunch in Corrales, New Mexico, after filming Season 3 of “The Cleaning Lady” in March or April 2024 — and the mother of the two boys was present.
Ford claims the mom got pissed while discussing whether her kids would return to the show, saying she would “get Timothy Busfield” and “have his ass” if her boys were not brought back for the next season. Ford confirms he personally heard the remark, claiming it was made before any formal complaint of inappropriate conduct had been filed with the authorities.
Police say Busfield replaced the two boys with a younger boy who had auditioned.
In addition, Ford says the children’s parents were always present whenever their kids were working … and says he observed the dad frequently encouraging them to hug people on set, including Busfield, in full view of others.
Ford also says he never witnessed Busfield alone with the children, adding there was “no realistic opportunity” for private contact because other people were always visible or in earshot. Ford goes on to say all interactions between Busfield and the child actors took place in open areas of the set, surrounded by cast, crew, and parents.
As we reported … Busfield surrendered to Albuquerque police last week after a warrant was issued for his arrest, claiming he sexually abused the two children on the set of “The Cleaning Lady.” Prosecutors charged Busfield with 2 counts of criminal sexual contact of a minor and one count of child abuse.
According to court documents filed Monday, the 2 child actors accusing Busfield of inappropriately touching them initially told police the exact opposite in audio recordings of police interviews in November 2024.
Prosecutors state the boys only revealed the alleged abuse after they underwent therapy sessions in September 2025 — with one of the boys telling his counselor Busfield had touched his penis and bottom.
Busfield has denied all allegations and is currently being held without bond. His legal team says he passed an independent lie detector test related to the accusations and claims a Warner Bros. internal investigation found no evidence of misconduct.
