Brendan Allen isn’t mincing his words after pulling off a short-notice upset win against Reinier de Ridder … telling TMZ Sports his opponent’s team wasn’t responsible for calling it quits, but the fighter himself!!
We chopped it up with Allen following his massive performance at UFC Vancouver over the weekend … which ended when RDR failed to answer the bell to start the fifth round.
Allen said he watched back the moment RDR’s corner threw in the towel … and while Reinier’s coaches swore it was their call, he had a different view.
“It was something to the fact, ‘Are you okay, are you okay to keep going,’ or something like that,” he said. “And he said, ‘No.’ They said, ‘Are you done?’ He said, ‘Yes.'”
“It had nothing to do with his coaches. It had nothing to do with his corner. He quit. They asked him the two questions. He said ‘Yes’ and ‘No.’ Again, it was in a different language. I just watched and heard the translation for what it was.”
Either way, Allen got the W, leaving the fifth-ranked UFC middleweight with plenty of options for his next fight. So, who does he want next??
As much as he would love a shot against Khamzat Chimaev for the middleweight title … he knows he has to be realistic.
“For me, the best-case scenario would probably be Dricus [Du Plessis] in April, I would assume,” Allen said. “March, April, May, somewhere around there, that’s the best-case scenario. But if not, you know, there’s still Sean Strickland and I guess [Israel Adesanya].”
We’ll leave the matchmaking to the professionals. In the meantime … congrats on the win, Brendan!!

Jessica Simpson ain’t one to quit … she’s giving her Hidden Hills, California crib another shot on the market — relisting it after a quick month-long timeout.
The singer’s trying to offload the 7-bedroom estate for a cool $17.9 mil — the same price she dropped it to back in January when she first tried to move it … smack in the middle of those L.A. wildfires tearing through the region.

Nearly a whole year’s passed, but the place must’ve kept some bad mojo ’cause it’s still struggled to sell … especially since Jessica first listed the mansion for $22 million back in September ’23, and it’s been fighting for a buyer ever since.
It’s not like this place isn’t insane — 13,274 square feet on 2.25 acres, wild views, and every A-list perk you can think of … luxe appliances, a spa that practically begs you to move in, a guest house with its own kitchenette — this lot is a straight-up dream pad!
Hopefully, giving it a month-long breather after yanking it from the market in November will work some magic and finally get it sold.

Person Of Interest Arrested
… After NYC Shooting

An arrest has been made in connection with the shooting of New York Jets player Kris Boyd … a person of interest was taken into custody in Buffalo on Monday, TMZ Sports confirmed.
Law enforcement sources say a 20-year-old man was arrested in Western New York just hours ago … and is currently on his way back to the Big Apple to face charges in the case.
NYPD and U.S. Marshals were both part of the apprehension.
Boyd was shot outside NYC hotspot Sei Less — an Asian fusion restaurant a few blocks away from Times Square — around 2 AM on November 16.
The 29-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to the abdomen, leaving him fighting for his life in critical condition. A few days later, KB took to his Instagram to share an update with his followers, saying he was starting to breathe on his own.
“I’m sorry, I have no words at the moment.. Just grateful! I’m coming along, starting to breathe on my own now. Sincerely appreciate everyone!”
Cops later shared a photo of a man they were looking for (it’s unclear if this is the individual who was arrested) in connection with the shooting.
A few days ago, Boyd made his return to the Jets’ facility in New Jersey … and his teammates were pumped to have him back.
“It’s not something that we at all thought or knew was going to happen today, so it was a good surprise to see him with such high hopes and positive energy,” Jets tight end Jeremy Ruckert said.
“It was cool, a good moment for us to get back around him and for him to be around us.”
As of now, it’s unclear what charges the individual in custody will face when he arrives back in the city.
