Doug Martin‘s family is shedding more light on the ex-NFL star’s death … revealing the 36-year-old privately struggled with mental health issues over the years — and they were actively trying to get him help prior to his passing.
Martin’s former agency — Athletes First — shared a statement on behalf of the family on Monday … which explained how Martin’s parents had contacted local authorities earlier in the night for “medical assistance.”
The family said Doug became “overwhelmed and disoriented” … which led him to leave the home and enter a neighbor’s residence two doors down the street, where he was then taken into custody.
Oakland Police said responding officers had a “brief struggle” with Martin during his detainment and he become unresponsive.
He was then rushed to the hospital by paramedics, where he later died.
The family said Martin’s mental health issues away from the public eye “profoundly impacted his personal and professional life.”
“Ultimately, mental illness proved to be the one opponent from which Doug could not run.”
Martin’s cause of death has not been determined … and the investigation into what transpired is still on-going, with multiple agencies involved.

Gun Used To Whack Healthcare CEO?!?

Prosecutors in the Luigi Mangione murder trial just entered a bunch of evidence into court … including photos of the gun they say Luigi used to whack UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
The photos are included in new legal docs obtained by TMZ … they show a handgun, bullets and a magazine. Cops say they found the gun and the loaded magazine in Luigi’s bag when he was arrested.
Police previously released photos of the gun last December around the time of Luigi’s arrest … but these are clearer photos from different angles … in other words, it’s the best look yet at the gun Luigi allegedly used to kill Thompson.
Luigi’s court hearing this month have been pretty juicy … prosecutors resurfaced video from the shooting and released the 911 call that led to Luigi’s arrest at a Pennsylvania McDonald’s … plus, we finally saw the body cam footage from the arrest.
For his part, Luigi’s pleaded not guilty to murdering Thompson, who was gunned down December 4, 2024 on a NYC sidewalk.

Timothée Chalamet fans waited for hours in line to get some “Marty Supreme” merch at a Los Angeles pop up shop … and the crowd grew so huge, cops were called.
Check out these videos from the ‘Marty’ pop-up shop in L.A. … this is on a Monday afternoon, and there’s a line down the block with tons of people trying to squeeze inside to get their hands on merch.

The woman managing the space came out and had to tell folks if they didn’t have a ticket, they needed to get out of line, and there were tons of security and fencing in place … but police still ended up being called.
Video shows several officers at the pop-up deciding whether to declare this an unlawful assembly.
LAPD tells TMZ … officers responded to a large group at 1:53 PM, and when officers arrived, they requested additional units.

We’re told LAPD ultimately left the scene without citing anyone or shutting it down.
People started getting in line Sunday, and it looks like the commotion may have even caused a car crash.
Timothée’s new movie isn’t out until later this month, but it seems folks are super excited for it … or, they just want to resell the merch.
