Investigators think there could be a link between the campus mass shooting at Brown University and the MIT professor who was later killed at his home — and law enforcement is now digging into a possible connection, TMZ has learned.

A federal law enforcement source tells TMZ … federal, state and local authorities are now looking into whether the fields of physics and engineering are a factor in the murders linking the two cases. No suspects have been identified or apprehended in either case.

This is a major shift in the investigation — especially since FBI Boston Special Agent in Charge Ted Docks said Tuesday there didn’t appear to be any connection between the two shootings.

The violence kicked off Saturday, Dec. 13, when a gunman went on a rampage at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island — killing two students and injuring nine others. Providence Police have released enhanced video of a new person of interest tied to the campus shooting.

On Monday, December 15, Massachusetts Institute of Technology professor Nuno F. Gomes Loureiro was gunned down at his home in Brookline, Massachusetts shortly before 8:30 PM Monday.

The MIT professor worked in the Nuclear Science and Engineering Department and the Brown Shooting occurred inside the School of Engineering.

Brookline is 50 miles north of Providence.

Then again, the show is still called “Emily In Paris,” so it’d be kind of weird not to shoot the series in the French capital — and we don’t think Collins or her costar, Ashley Park, could lose their soft spot for its landmarks, like the Eiffel Tower.

Still, a little hospitality went a long way for the show’s cast, who posed together while sharing some seriously sizable portions of pasta between scenes.

Move over, Charlize Theron, there’s a new “Monster” in Hollywood … and this time it’s Sarah Paulson trying her hand at reimagining the harrowing story of serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

Sarah looks mostly unrecognizable as Aileen in these shots … she’s dyed her hair and she’s walking around a film set in Los Angeles wearing a bathrobe, undershirt, sweats, and slippers.

Charlize depicted Aileen in the 2003 biopic “Monster” … and her work earned Charlize an Oscar. Aileen’s also had her story told in a different Netflix production … a documentary called “Aileen: Queen of the Serial Killers.”
