This week’s arrival at one of London’s key pop-up spaces — The Corner Shop at Selfridges — is Prada, with the latest in a series of Corner Shop residencies for the influential Italian label being its Prada Natural offer.
Open until 20 September, it features a new selection of men’s and women’s ready-to-wear and accessories. The offering “revolves around the season’s transitional moments, encompassing countless pairings and impromptu possibilities”.
Prada said the space is “inspired by the fast-paced metropolitan landscape” and is “enriched with three-dimensional natural wooden volumes in a carefully calibrated interplay of solids and voids. Walls feature black-and-white visuals and serve as backdrops for the space’s natural wooden architecture, creating warm yet geometrical dimensions”.
Product-wise, Re-Nylon is the key material in the women’s selection with raincoats, windbreakers, quilted padded jackets, blouses, flared skirts, and drawstring trousers. A curated assortment of accessories also features leather backpacks with metal hardware alongside totes and multipurpose bags. The footwear ranges from tapered ankle boots to brushed leather or stretch Nappa Leather Monoliths.
The new Prada Explore bag – “a versatile silhouette with a refined, utilitarian essence, echoing Prada’s uniform-inspired attitude” – is “the protagonist” of the men’s offering, alongside backpacks and travel bags in an selection of materials.
These designs are complemented by hats, belts, accessories, as well as a range of Re-Nylon outerwear and “garments conceived with the city in mind”.
The Corner Shop residency comes as Prada is also running shorter-term pop-up at the department store from Thursday until 3 September.
To close out the summer season, Prada Beauty is operating the pop-up that’s “packed full of interactive and complimentary experiences”. It focuses on the new Prada Beauty collection with a starring role for its Prada Lip Balm in Banana Yellow.
Visitors can get a complimentary Banana Granita at the Duke Street entrance before moving inside “for a bunch of unforgettable moments and exclusive offers, including the chance to receive the moreish and much coveted Prada Banana Jellies”.
