The Katjes Group, which is primarily known for its confectionery products, is taking the helm of luxury clothing manufacturer Bogner. A contract has been signed for the purchase of 60% of the shares in the Bogner Group, Katjes International announced in Emmerich. The remaining 40% will continue to be held by the Bogner family. Katjes itself is also family-owned.

Bogner specialises in skiwear

According to Katjes, the Bogner Group is Germany’s largest family-run luxury clothing brand. The focus is on sports and leisurewear. In the 2024/25 financial year, the Bogner Group generated net sales of almost 200 million euros. The company is profitable. Katjes did not disclose the purchase price. The purchase is to be financed via corporate bonds.

Katjes also owns brands such as “Bübchen” and “Theramed”. The purchase adds another well-known brand to the portfolio.

“With our successes in the personal care sector – with Bübchen, Theramed and Shirin Beauty – we have proven that we can profitably develop brands outside of our original business,” said Tobias Bachmüller, Managing Partner of Katjes International, in a press release. With Bogner, the brand portfolio is being expanded to include the luxury goods segment, further enhancing it.

Last year, the Katjes Group generated a turnover of 393 million euros. Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation amounted to 45 million euros. The company employs an average of 1,100 people.
