Paul Rodriguez is going to war with the Burbank Police Department … bracing for an ugly legal battle over his recent arrest for drug possession, TMZ has learned.
The legendary actor-comedian and Burbank law enforcement sources traded accusations in separate statements to TMZ, turning Paul’s misdemeanor drug possession case into a wild drama.
On Friday night, Paul was arrested with a female friend after cops pulled them over — she was driving, he was in the passenger seat — and conducted a search, eventually finding drugs in the woman’s purse. Paul told TMZ the cop slapped him — and Paul’s attorney, Bobby Samini, later said the officer’s actions constituted a civil rights violation.
On Tuesday night, Burbank PD sources fired back … telling TMZ that though they’re aware of Paul’s police misconduct allegations, and the matter is currently under administrative review, his accusations seem dubious.

They point out that after Paul was released from custody, he spoke to a watch commander and never raised any issues about officer misconduct.
We’re told the arrest was caught on police body cam video, but the department has no immediate plans to release it, citing the “active criminal case.”
Other law enforcement sources provided new details on the car stop, saying the officer found suspected fentanyl inside the vehicle, along with multiple glass pipes. We’re told police are currently testing the substance.
As for Rodriguez, Samini returned fire, telling TMZ … “The assertion that Mr. Rodriguez was in possession of any controlled substance is absolutely false. Statements by anonymous sources that to the contrary are solely intended to defame Mr. Rodriguez are cowardly and irresponsible.”
Samini went on … “Mr. Rodriguez will defend these allegations and take all appropriate legal action against those responsible. Aside from Mr. Rodriguez’s storied career in Hollywood, he is a retired United States Air Force veteran. He served this Country honorably and held the highest levels of security clearance.”
Samini continued … “Although he fully cooperated with law enforcement, he was forcibly removed from the vehicle, arrested, and subsequently strip-searched. No controlled substances were found in his possession or on his person. This conduct was not intended to protect and serve the community but intended to humiliate and demean Mr. Rodriguez.”
The lawyer summed it this way … “Mr. Rodriguez, a passenger in the vehicle, was treated like a dangerous criminal. My client believes in the judicial system and will seek justice from a jury of his peers. Mr. Rodriguez will exercise his legal rights and clear his name.”

Snubs Cheryl Hines at UFC Event

President Trump gave RFK Jr.‘s wife, Cheryl Hines, the cold shoulder, refusing to shake her hand as he made the rounds at UFC 314 in Florida Saturday night.
The Commander in Chief kicked things off by making a grand entrance to the event in Miami, entering the arena to thunderous applause with UFC bigwig Dana White and shaking hands with supporters.
When he finally got to RFK Jr. standing in the crowd, Trump gave a light hug to his Secretary of Health and Human Services, but then snubbed Hines.
Check out the video, which shows Cheryl extend her hand to Trump as he passes by her, but Trump completely ignores her, moving on to greet the next person.
Hines’ reaction says it all … she looks totally embarrassed as she makes a hand gesture and peers over to RFK Jr., who doesn’t seem to respond.
Other than that … Trump was very warm to everyone else at the jam-packed Kaseya Center.
As he settled in ringside, Trump sat between podcaster Joe Rogan and his Department of Government Efficiency head, billionaire Elon Musk.
The prez also brought along his granddaughter, Kai Trump, and several other members of his administration, including FBI Director Kash Patel, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.

Good news for those hoping to bust out their Boston Bruins jerseys and hockey stick putters this summer … Christopher McDonald — the man who played Shooter McGavin in “Happy Gilmore” — tells TMZ Sports that Adam Sandler‘s golf flick’s sequel is going to rock.
“Happy Gilmore 2” is slated to drop on Netflix on July 25 … and when we caught up with McDonald out at LAX this week, he told us it’s “going to be fantastic.”

The 70-year-old, who’s reprising his Shooter role for the film, didn’t want to reveal too much more about the movie — he stated he’s signed an NDA so he’s sworn to secrecy for now — but he did joke he was sure it’d be good because “I love me.”
The film seems to follow Sandler’s Gilmore character in the decades after he beat McGavin for the Tour Championship … and based on some of the previews that have dropped, it looks like Sandler and McDonald will be renewing their on-screen rivalry for Part II.
They’ll interact with a bunch of celebs along the way — John Daly and music superstar Bad Bunny are in it … as are Bryson DeChambeau and Rory McIlroy. Travis Kelce, of course, has a part as well.
