Philadelphia Eagles Two People Shot At Super Bowl Parade
Published
The Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl celebration has taken a tragic turn … two people have reportedly been injured by gunfire while enjoying the parade.
Police told CBS News the shooting occurred Friday afternoon at 23rd and Spring Garden Streets — just a few blocks away from where Eagles players addressed the thousands that had gathered to soak in the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory over the Chiefs.
Further details surrounding the matter have not been immediately available … we’ve reached out to the Philadelphia Police Department for comment, but have yet to hear back.
Birds backers have filled Philly streets since the early hours of Friday … as the parade officially got underway at 11 AM ET.
The festivities just now concluded, some four hours later. There was no mention of the shooting on the event’s broadcast.
This is now the second time in the last year there’s been gun violence at a Super Bowl parade — in February 2024, one person was killed and dozens of others were injured in a shooting near where the Chiefs were relishing in their win over the 49ers.
Erik and Lyle Menendez D.A. Says Brothers Don’t Deserve a New Trial

The Menendez Brothers got a thumbs down from the L.A. County D.A. when it comes to getting a new trial based on new evidence.
L.A. County D.A. Nate Hochman just announced his office will oppose the brothers’ request for another trial based on 2 pieces of evidence — a letter from Erik to his cousin purportedly written in 1988 where Erik discusses sexual abuse, and a declaration from a member of Menudo saying Jose Menendez molested him in the ’80’s. The D.A. says the new evidence does not change what happened when Erik and Lyle were convicted of murder.
2 Angry Men Podcast
Hochman says the real issue is the act of murder itself, and the sexual abuse allegations were not relevant in the conviction. He also expressed doubt about the authenticity of the 1988 letter and doubt about sexual abuse allegations, period.
The D.A. made it clear … sexual abuse does not in any way mitigate what Erik and Lyle did to their parents. He made a point of saying Erik and Lyle tried to cover up their involvement in the murders. He also highlighted how Lyle reloaded the gun and delivered a kill shot to his mortally wounded mother.
As for re-sentencing … the D.A. was non-committal as to whether he will support or oppose it.
As you know … many people — including 20 family members of the Menendez bros — have called for their release.
The Netflix series “Monsters: The Lyle and Erik Menendez Story” helped sway the public’s opinion … and, then-D.A. George Gascón said he would support resentencing the brothers to enable their release.
We spoke to Erik and Lyle on our “2 Angry Men” podcast — cohosted by their attorney, Mark Geragos — earlier this week … and, the two detailed the abuse they faced when they were first locked up in prison and what they’ve done with their lives behind bars. They also talked about what they would do if they’re released.
Luigi Mangione Defense Attorney Blasts Eric Adams … Got Hair, Makeup Done to Prejudice Jury!!!

Fox 5 New York
Luigi Mangione‘s lawyer is pissed off at the mayor of New York City … blasting Mayor Eric Adams for giving a TV interview about the alleged evidence against her client — when she says she has yet to receive it from cops.
Karen Friedman Agnifilo appeared on the steps of a NYC courthouse Friday just minutes after Mangione’s court appearance … the first look the public has gotten of him since he was arraigned in December for allegedly murdering UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson.
KFA says she had a few serious concerns to bring up in court … one of the biggest being “Who is Luigi Mangione?” — a recent documentary released by HBO which features high-ranking police officials and Mayor Adams himself.
Agnifilo says she was floored when she watched the doc and saw the cops and mayor — who took the time to get all dolled up in full hair and makeup, she says — sharing alleged evidence against her client which hadn’t been handed over to her yet. She just received it today, but the doc dropped earlier this month.
Plus, Karen adds the actors don’t even sound anything like Mangione … so, in this case, their imitations are not a form of flattery.
Karen says she’s really worried this will prejudice any potential jury pool against her client … a major violation of his constitutional rights.

She also expressed concern over the number of jurisdictions in which Mangione has been charged for this one incident … noting in court that it could limit her ability to defend her client.
Agnifilo adds that it’s hard to defend Mangione while he’s in federal custody because they’re constantly surrounded by cops … and, she would rather he be in state prison. Remember, Mangione is in custody at MDC Brooklyn — a federal jail in the city.
During court, the judge offered to remand Mangione to Riker’s Island — one of the most notorious prisons in the country, which is set to be closed down in the next few years. Riker’s is a state prison, not a federal one.
Worth noting, Agnifilo also called out Adams at Mangione’s December arraignment after Luigi was paraded in a very public perp walk — surrounded by law enforcement personnel and the mayor himself — that was caught by hundreds of cameras.
As you know … Luigi is facing both state and federal murder charges for the alleged slaying of Thompson — and, he could get the death penalty if convicted.
It’s high stakes … and, it sounds like Agnifilo’s pissed that Adams is butting into the tense situation.
Treachisn’t an expert on Tupac Shakur‘s ongoing murder trial involving Keefe D …but he’s still mourning the late rap legend until the day he dies!!!
The Naughty By Nature frontman was out in Hollywood this week hanging with his longtime bud, Boo-Yaa T.R.I.B.E.’s OG Kobra, and chopped it up with TMZ Hip Hop about the latest delay in the 27-year-old hip hop murder.

Keefe D’s trial was pushed back to 2026 this week after proceedings were originally supposed to happen in March.
Treach says he didn’t pass the bar, but whatever is best for Tupac’s family, he’s all for it.

Coincidentally, it was Tupac who gave Treach his first taste of Tinseltown, and he was actually out in L.A. for the “Jason’s Lyric” play he costars in with Allen Payne, Eva Marcille and others.
Treach reprises his role from the 1994 film as Alonzo, but tells us he had to up his game for the Je’Caryous Johnson playwright … audiences won’t see a cookie-cutter version of the movie — every moment is live!!!
