D.C. Plane Crash Chopper Likely Never Saw Jet … Says Retired Army Pilot

Darrell Feller, a retired U.S. Army National Guard pilot, is weighing in on the possible causes behind the tragic D.C. aircraft collision … sharing how a number of factors could’ve been at play.
We caught up with Darrell on “TMZ Live” in the aftermath of Wednesday night’s tragedy, and he explained how it was entirely possible the Army Black Hawk helicopter, which crashed into a regional jet carrying 64 people, didn’t even see the aircraft coming.
Darrell says the particular route the chopper took is known for causing “confusion with ground light,” due to the light from surrounding structures, buildings and other aircraft.
He noted … “The passenger jet lights will actually blend in with those ground lights and it’s very difficult to see sometimes.”
Darrell said this particular route, combined with the assigned runway, is known as the “most dangerous spot” … which means an incident is most likely to occur there — as it did this week.
While the route has been shut down by the FAA following the collision, Darrell made a case for its existence … explaining it allows Air Traffic Control a clear way to move aircraft in and out of congested airspace.

Darrell said something will have to be done about the danger zone … but shared it’s unclear if that means closing the tricky runway, or creating a new routing system entirely.
There’s currently a federal investigation into the cause of the collision … which left no survivors.

Justin Baldoni Here’s Proof Blake & NYT Plotted For Months!!! Amends Suit Against Her
Published
Justin Baldoni says he now has cold hard proof Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds had it out for him several months before she dropped her Christmas surprise lawsuit against him … so, now he’s updating his lawsuit against them.
According to new docs, obtained by TMZ, Justin alleges the “malicious and recklesss” defamation of his character started at least as early as October 31 — it’s got nothing to do with Halloween, and everything to do with the metadata embed in the New York Times article about Blake’s lawsuit against Justin.
Here’s their evidence … Justin’s team claims observers of the article found “viewing the HTML source code for the article revealed references to a ‘message-embed-generator’ that referred to a date of ‘2024-10-31.'”
So, in layman’s terms, and in Justin’s lawsuit … he says that shows the NYT started building the allegedly defamatory article no later than October 31 — the date the outlet developed a tool to display the text messages which were such a prominent part of Blake’s lawsuit and the Times article about it.

Team Baldoni says that’s significant because the elements behind the now infamous article “strip away the legal shields that Lively, the Times, and other Lively Parties were likely relying on to protect their malicious acts of defamation.”
As we’ve reported, Justin is suing the NYT for $400 million — separate from his suit against Blake and Ryan — alleging the outlet cherry-picked and doctored text messages in its article, and colluded with Blake to support her attack on his character.
Justin’s attorney Bryan Freedman tells TMZ … “The decision to amend our lawsuit was a logical next step due to the overwhelming amount of new proof that has come to light. This fresh evidence corroborates what we knew all along, that due to purely egotistical reasons Ms. Lively and her entire team colluded for months to destroy reputations through a complex web of lies, false accusations and the manipulation of illicitly received communications.”

Freedman adds, “The ongoing public interest in this case online has ironically shed light on the undeniable facts pertaining to The New York Times and how heavily Ms. Lively and her representatives were not only deeply involved in the attempted take down and smear campaign of Mr. Baldoni, Wayfarer Studios and their teams but that they themselves initiated it.”
The amended suit also includes a more than 150-page timeline that lays out, in meticulous detail, the sequence of Blake’s alleged campaign to destroy Justin. How detailed is it? It goes all the way back to January 1, 2019, when Justin emailed Colleen Hoover, the author of the “It Ends With Us” novel … and follows, step-by-step, through this saga to January 29, 2025.
We’ve reached out to Blake’s camp … so far, no word back — but you know they’ll have something to say. That’s just how this battle goes.

Wendy Williams will remain locked up indefinitely, but she got good news Friday … a judge will allow her to fly to Miami for her father’s 94th birthday.
Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ … the judge has authorized private security to accompany Wendy from NYC to Miami, where her dad will be celebrating with friends and family. Wendy will be there for 2 days and then fly back to NY … where she is confined in a studio apartment at an assisted living facility.
TMZ has interviewed Wendy for a new Tubi documentary — “Saving Wendy” — and in it, we raise serious questions about why she is still in a guardianship that gives her virtually no freedom. She calls her apartment a “luxury prison,” where she rarely gets to breathe fresh air, has no internet access, and virtually no visitors … no one can even call her.

We’ve also learned the judge is prohibiting Wendy from having any further contact with the media.
Our documentary, “Saving Wendy” drops Wednesday, Feb. 12 … streaming for free on Tubi.

PresidentDonald Trump‘s administration is directly calling out Selena Gomez for her tearful reaction to the recent mass ICE arrests … accusing the starlet of having little empathy for those “murdered by illegal aliens.”
The White House formally uploaded a video to Instagram and other social sites on Friday evening, where they highlighted 3 separate cases where women were allegedly killed by undocumented individuals.

The captions added … “Kayla Hamilton, Jocelyn Nungaray, and Rachel Morin were murdered by illegal aliens. Their courageous mothers had something to say to @SelenaGomez and those who oppose securing our borders.”
Watch the video, the mothers — including Alexis Nungaray, Tammy Nobles, Patty Morin — all open up about their respective heartbreak … and accuse the “Only Murders in the Building” actress of putting on an act to “garner sympathy for lawlessness.”
As Patty bluntly put it … “No one has stood up except for us mothers to cry out about our children.”
The women also applauded 47 for beefing up the immigration policy in the U.S. after returning to the Oval Office earlier this month.
As you know, Selena — a 3rd-generation Mexican American — felt differently over the mass deportations … uploading a video of herself crying about ICE’s actions and declaring her people were “getting attacked.”
She quickly deleted the video and later defended she was just showing “empathy for people.”

Yet, the damage had been done, prompting even border czar Tom Homan to respond … who encouraged Selena to take the issue up with Congress.
We’ve reached out to Selena’s rep for comment … so far, no word back.
