After five weeks of NFL action, the latest NFL Supercomputer has predicted the currently unbeaten San Francisco 49ers will win Super Bowl LXI in Los Angeles in February, beating the Kansas City Chiefs at SoFi Stadium.
The Supercomputer, compiled by CSB, has revealed the 49ers will be the number one seed in the NFC, finishing with a 14-3 record. They will then beat their bitter NFC West rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, in the Divisional Round and then face a repeat of the 2024 NFC Championship game against the Detroit Lions, once again beating Dan Campbell’s side to reach the Super Bowl.
In the AFC, the Chiefs are predicted to be the number one seed (14-3) and in the Divisional Round are projected to overcome the five-seed Denver Broncos, before taking on Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills in the AFC Championship game. Allen is once again predicted to come up short against Mahomes and his crew, with the Chiefs reaching their sixth Championship game in eight seasons.
In Super Bowl LXI, the Niners have been given a 52.4% chance to defeat Kansas City (47.6%) in the showpiece in Inglewood, making the 49ers the overall tournament favourite with a 16.8% total probability to win Super Bowl LXI. The model has predicted the Niners will win the Super Bowl by a score of 24-20, exorcising their demons from Super Bowl LVIII when they were beaten 25-22 in overtime by the Chiefs.
Niners quarterback Brock Purdy will land the Super Bowl LXI MVP according to the data, throwing for 248 yards and two passing touchdowns, with no interceptions.
AFC PLAYOFF BRACKET
In the AFC, Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs are projected to secure the conference’s sole first-round bye.
However, the path through the AFC remains a gauntlet, with the Buffalo Bills (13-4) and Baltimore Ravens (13-4) projected right on their heels.
The wild-card race in the AFC promises late-season drama. The Denver Broncos (11–6), Cincinnati Bengals (10-7), and New England Patriots (10-7) are projected to grab the three wild-card spots, narrowly edging out the Pittsburgh Steelers (9-8), who are given a 41.0% chance of extending their postseason aspirations.

NFC PLAYOFF BRACKET
While the 49ers are predicted to be the number one seed coming out of the NFC West – with the LA Rams missing out on the playoffs entirely – it is in fact the NFC North that is forecasted to be the most competitive division in football.
All four NFC North teams – Minnesota (13-4), Detroit (11-6), Green Bay (10-7), and Chicago (10-7) – are projected to finish above .500, with three of them making the postseason and the Bears the ones missing out.

(3) Dallas Cowboys (46.0%) vs. (6) Seattle Seahawks (54.0%)

NFC Championship Game: (1) San Francisco 49ers (57.5%) vs. (5) Detroit Lions (42.5%)
Projected Super Bowl LXI final score
San Francisco 49ers 24, Kansas City Chiefs 20
Total Game Points: 44 (Under the typical marquee total line of 47.5–49.5)
Game Script: The 49ers build a 17–10 lead by halftime using a sustained ground game and methodical short-passing attack to keep Patrick Mahomes off the field. Kansas City mounts a late second-half surge, but San Francisco’s front seven generates a key red-zone stop in the final two minutes to seal a four-point victory.
Reason: Quarterbacks have won 33 of the 58 Super Bowl MVP awards (~57%). In a game projected to end 24–20, the winning quarterback who avoids turnover mistakes and delivers on late-third-down conversions historically captures the trophy.
