So it was the other Chad, trainer Chad Summers, who landed in the winners circle at The 151st Preakness with number 10 Napoleon Solo. Jockey Paco Lopez sent this runner straight to the front and had enough left to finish the job in the stretch. That effort became the key to our $7,080 P5 payout that we touted on our podcast and in our breakdown on Sports Talk Florida.
We touted number 6 Turf Star as the number one Prime Power and our top pick. He delivered and got the P5 off to a strong start with a $10.40 winner.
Race 10
Our podcast guest, Gus Alonso from Twinspires and Brisnet, loved the class of the winner, number 4 Fort Washington. Let ’em Run had that runner squarely in our sights as well, and he paid $7.80 for the effort.
Race 11
This is where my colleague John Kostin would have given us an A+ for ticket structure. The all button can go so many ways, and here it worked in our favor. Number 4 Warming paid $19.80 and made the decision look like the right one. At this point, we were getting excited.
Race 12
Once again, the number one Prime Power from Brisnet.com came through as number 4 Chasing Liberty won in a tight photo that had us holding our breath. A full exhale followed, and he paid $9.20.
Now it was time for the race of the day.
Race 13
The Preakness
We made several points as to why we singled number 10 Napoleon Solo. He has natural speed, and while there was plenty of other speed in the race, we did not feel any of it posed a real threat to him. Before the race, we had read and seen several tells that this runner was full of himself leading up to the big moment.
So we had a very good day, and we hope you did as well. I want to thank Gus Alonso for joining us on the podcast and providing sharp insight. Be sure to keep up with Let ’em Run on multiple streaming apps and social channels.
So bet smart, cheer hard, fast horses can lead to serious fun, and when all is said and done… Let ’em Run
