Ahead of Derby, Let ’em Run struggles again on muddy Aqueduct track

Let ’em Run Review of 4/25/26 and Preview of Upcoming Podcast Shows

We have finally arrived. This Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd, we are set for two outstanding days of racing from the Twinspires of Churchill Downs. Both the Kentucky Oaks and the Kentucky Derby feature full fields and present serious betting challenges for handicappers.

Let ‘em Run is ready to deliver in-depth analysis on contenders in both races. We kick things off with a special Thursday night show at 8 PM, breaking down the Late P5 on Friday’s card, including the Oaks. Special guest handicapper Wadie Khalaf joins us from Tampa Bay.

On Friday’s Happy Hour Show at 3 PM, we shift focus to Saturday’s Late P5, featuring the Kentucky Derby. Joining us will be Gus Alonso, author of Spotlight Selections for BRISnet. Both guests bring valuable insight and experience that you will not want to miss. All shows will be available on Sports Talk Media Network and multiple streaming platforms and social channels.

Aqueduct Late P5 Recap (4/25/26)

Last Saturday’s card at Aqueduct Racetrack was heavily impacted by rain, resulting in a sloppy main track and multiple races being taken off the turf. Here is how our selections performed:

Race 6

This race stayed on dirt and was run over a sloppy surface. Our top selection, #3 Lonesome Road, scratched. #5 Contrary Thinking remained and finished in 3rd place.

Race 7

This race stayed on turf, but the yielding conditions played a factor. Top selection #8 Burhan finished 4th, while value play #10 Fluid Situation did not fire.

Race 8

Taken off the turf, both our top pick #8 Just for Luck and second choice #2 Willpowered scratched.

Race 9

Run on a sloppy track, #6 Sheriff Bianco struggled with the conditions. However, our second choice #9 Unbroken Chain handled the surface well and delivered a win, paying $10.60.

Race 10

Another race moved off turf. Top pick #6 Bashful Baby failed to handle the off track, and #1 Mo Complex scratched. Notably, also-eligible entries—likely entered anticipating these conditions—finished 1st and 2nd, an angle worth tracking going forward.
