Florida’s motorsports heritage shines through Sebring’s legendary endurance race

Few events define Florida’s racing identity like the Twelve Hours of Sebring. First run in 1952 on the runways of a former World War II airfield, the race quickly became one of the world’s premier endurance tests. Its notoriously bumpy surface, unpredictable weather, and grueling 12‑hour format have challenged generations of drivers. Legends such as Mario Andretti, A.J. Foyt, Tom Kristensen, and Allan McNish have conquered Sebring, helping cement its status as a cornerstone of global sports car racing. The 74th edition continues that legacy, reaffirming Sebring as one of Florida’s most iconic sporting traditions.
