Broadway hits “Hamilton” and “Wicked” are returning to Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts as the downtown Orlando venue announced its upcoming 2026-27 season.
The lineup of 10 shows includes Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” “Beetlejuice,” “Jersey Boys,” “The Sound of Music,” “Buena Vista Social Club,” “Death Becomes Her,” “The Great Gatsby “and “BOOP! The Musical.”
Some of the shows, like “Hamilton,” have played to sold-out Orlando shows in recent years.
“This season reflects both the scale and momentum of Broadway today,” said Dr. Phillips Center CEO Kathy Ramsberger. “From exciting new productions to returning shows, we’re proud to welcome existing and new subscribers, as well as first-time guests, to a season that continues to elevate Orlando as a leading Broadway destination.”
In addition, Dr. Phillips Center also recently revealed the artists playing at “Country at Dr. Phillips Center,” which runs on several dates this Spring and features Sawyer Brown, Sammy Kershaw and Vince Gill.
“Country music is a beloved genre in our community and this series allows us to celebrate it in a meaningful and lasting way,” said Foster Cronin, vice president of programming and education at Dr. Phillips Center. “The enthusiasm we’ve seen for country programming tells us that Orlando wants more and this series promises to continue delivering unforgettable performances in truly world-class halls.”
Dr. Phillips Center opened in 2014 in downtown Orlando, immediately becoming part of the Central Florida cultural hub and an economic driver that’s brought in 1 million Broadway guests so far.
Over the holiday season, Dr. Phillips Center launched the inaugural “Frontyard Holiday Festival supported by AdventHealth,” a free outdoor holiday festival on its front yard that included live music performances, Christmas movies and Santa story time for children.
The Orlando Sentinel reported 154,333 visitors attended the one-month event, which will return next year, Ramsberger promised.
