Let ’em Run has mixed Pegasus Day at Gulfstream

Let ’em Run will be live again this week at Monmouth Park

Let ’em Run Review of 1/24/26 and Preview of 1/31/26

It was a frustrating ending to the day for us at Let ’em Run from a multi-race wagering standpoint, as our Pick 5 ticket unraveled in the middle after a strong start. We found ourselves in good position early, but once the sequence reached the later legs, the wheels fell off and the ticket never recovered.

This has become an all-too-familiar story lately, as both our Pick 5 and Pick 6 tickets once again came up empty. We identified several strong opinions early in the day and capitalized on them, but racing has a way of humbling you quickly. One tough sequence can undo a promising ticket in a matter of minutes. But we did make some money on the single plays throughout the afternoon, and that is what it is all about: trying to work through the wagers to cash.

It was a busy weekend of horseracing this past weekend, and we were right there with all the action. So here is a look at how the races unfolded and how we made out with our take on Pegasus Day at Gulfstream Park.

Race 9

We got off to a blazing start in this marathon turf racer and nailed the winner #4 Layabout, who ended up going gate to wire, and paid a nice $14.00 dollars for the effort. Hot jockey David Egan is worth keeping an eye on as the meet progresses.

Race 10

We continued with a nice roundup as #3 Destino d’Oro closed on the field in the stretch to win and pay $33.30, for those who used this pick. We also had the #12 Movin’ On Up who came in 3rd and paid $6.60.

Race 11

The top pick on all tickets (and ours) #3 Jody’s Pride did not fire at all today. That opened the door for our other choice #11 Grand Job to hit the wire first and paid $6.20 if you followed our lead.

Race 12 & Race 13

This is where we hit the brakes…

In Race 12 our play of the day, #8 Cabo Spirit, was unexpectedly hounded on the lead, and faded in the stretch.

Race 13 The Pegasus World Cup Invitational was a Saffie Joseph Jr. exacta. The winner, #5 Skippylongstocking, was a big winner, and trainer Joseph Jr. was even more emotional about his runner up #11 White Abario.

This certainly was related to his concern when he was scratched pre-race in the Breeder’s Cup Classic. He let his feelings be known about this situation, and was just thrilled to see him come out of the race sound, and looking forward to where he may race next. Stay tuned.

Looking Ahead to 1/31/26

So be sure to tune into our Happy Hour Podcast on Friday at 3pm, where myself and partner John Kostin will break down 2 of the 3 Kentucky Derby Prep races being run on Saturday 1/31/26. We will look at The Withers Stakes from Aqueduct, and The Southwest Stakes from Oaklawn Park. Both races award 20 points to the winner.

On Saturday at 12:30 we will be live from Monmouth Park where John and myself will be participating in a NHC contest, trying to gain entries to the NHC Championship in Las Vegas. We will also break down the late Pick5 at Aqueduct as part of the podcast, which includes The Withers Stakes.

So tune in to our shows on multiple streaming apps, and social channels. Keep your eye out for Bro’s BRISnet Play’s of the Day, and remember to “bet smart, cheer hard, fast horses equal serious fun, and Let ’em Run !!
