Melania Trump leads ‘Home Is Where the Heart Is’ campaign for the holidays at the White House

The People’s House” will be the centerpiece for the “Home Is Where the Heart Is” campaign being launched by First Lady Melania Trump.

The First Lady is initiating a “creative inspiration” to feature the White House this holiday season and display the challenges and highlights of overseeing much of the activities at the White House.

“The constant movement has taught me that home is not merely a physical space, rather, it is the warmth and comfort I carry within, regardless of my surroundings,” Trump said in a news release. “This Christmas, let’s celebrate the love we hold within ourselves, and share it with the world around us. After all, wherever we are, we can create a home filled with grace, radiance, and endless possibilities.”

Trump has a series of programs and features planned that will be rolled out. The “Time-Honored Tradition” will highlight 75 holiday wreaths adorned with red bows that will hang in the windows of the White House. Some 50 Christmas trees and 700 feet of garland will also deck the halls of the People’s House. Those features will be accompanied by 25,000 feet of ribbon and 10,000 butterfly ornaments that will hang from the tree and other areas.

She will also focus on “Gold Star Families” in the Blue Room of the White house near the official Christmas tree, which is an 18-foot fir from Sidney, Michigan. That tree and associated decorations will commemorate Gold Star Families, which are relatives of U.S. military members who died during conflict. The ornaments for those service members will feature the bird and flower of every U.S. state and territory.

There’ll also be highlighted displays acknowledging the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States in 1776. Patriotic red, white and blue exhibits will be in the East Room of the White House, and massive puzzles featuring traditional American themes will be present in the Green Room.

And finally, there’s a planned 120 pounds of gingerbread that will be prominently displayed in the State Dining Room near the South Portico of the White House as part of a huge gingerbread house on display.

“The 2025 Christmas decorations serve as a reminder that the strength of our Nation is found in its people — in our shared values, valued traditions, and the steadfast belief that home is where the heart is,” the White House news release said.
