South Florida Congressman Jared Moskowitz announced he’s secured funding for the Performing Arts Center Authority in Fort Lauderdale.
Moskowitz, the HD 23 Democrat, detailed he’s secured a $20,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) from the 2026 fiscal year Grants for Arts program for the center. The money will go toward education and community engagement activities across Broward County.
That designation will help with support for jazz workshops in public schools as well as free tickets to performing arts students who will also get access to sound checks and other exposure to professional performing artists.
“South Florida’s arts community is one of the many things that makes our region so special, and this investment in the Broward Center is an investment in both culture and opportunity,” Moskowitz said. “This funding will help give local students meaningful access to arts education and live performance. I’m proud to announce this support for the Broward Center and the next generation of young artists in our community.”
The general purpose of the grant is encourage students to enter the arts professionally and enhance their knowledge of live music and educational programming.
“The National Endowment for the Arts is proud to support opportunities across the country for Americans to experience and participate in the arts,” said Mary Anne Carter, chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. “As we celebrate the country’s 250th anniversary this year, it is a moment to recognize the important role the arts continue to play in our lives, communities, and heritage.”
